Arla Foods amba have reported overall revenue down 3.8% to €5.13bn in the first half of 2015 while their ‘performance milk price’ averaged 33.8c/kg, 19% less than in 2014. Arla’s first half profit was €116m, equivalent to 2.3% of revenue but full year profits are expected within the range 2.7%-3.0% on full year revenues expected to reach about €10.25bn. CEO Peder Tuborgh said: “Our ambition is to achieve total savings of €330m by the end of 2015 compared with 2012 and we are on track to do so.” During the first half, Arla achieved a volume-driven revenue growth of their three global brands Arla, Lurpak and Castello of 2.4%. “Even with our milk intake increasing by 7% to 7bn kg (6.25bn kg by owners) we have managed to keep our industry trading sales share at 20%-22% while moving more milk into branded retail sales and food service,” according to Tuborgh.
