Molkerei Ammerland have reported sales up 50% to €1,679m for 2022 as a result of the significant increase in sales prices. The average farmgate milk price increased by 51% to 56.58c/kg. Milk intake was up 5.8% to 2.2bn kg. A total 182,400t of cheese was processed, accounting for 76% of sales volumes. Powder production amounted to 79,900t, down slightly from the previous year. The co-op produced 209,000t of fresh products and 22,383t of butter.
The German-based IFE institute’s estimated average EU raw milk value was down 0.6c this week to 35.8c/kg at the farmgate level. This price is based on official butter and SMP prices in Germany, France and the Netherlands. The average price for SMP in the three markets is down €32 to €2,323/t and the average for butter is down €68 at €4,537/t.
