The Hall family’s Preston, Lancs-based Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses, now run by the fourth generation, have reported sales up 16.6% to £18.2m for the year to Sept 2022 with operating profits down 5.6% at £915,110 and pre-tax profits also down 7.1% to £881,000. Total equity was up 13% at £7.8m. Staff numbers were down from 115 to 113. Dividends totalling £6,000 were paid out, the same as the year before. Butlers acquired the Parlick sheep milk cheese brand and some assets in August 2022, for around £300,500.
